Transitus... a top-down cloche-style hat with elongated stitches that criss-cross along a purl ridge.
You can knit Transitus with more (or less) slouch depending on how much you like in a hat! The cloche shape is achieved with a short row brim before the edging and bind off.
Transitus is great with (or without) a pom-pom! Totally up to you!

One US Size 7 [4.5 mm] 16” circular needle, or size needed to obtain pattern gauge

GAUGE
17 sts x 24 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch, blocked on smaller needles
19 sts x 28 rnds = 4 inches in Pattern Stitch, blocked on larger needles
