Ailé

This bit of bijouterie, reminiscent of wings, is written for both sport and lace weight yarns. I designed them to use up some wee little bits in your stash and get you playing with beads. My favorite part is choosing beads and a clasp to coordinate. Start looking in your jewelry box or antique stores. The best clasps are ones that have been lying around just waiting to be repurposed for Ailé.

Schaefer Yarn Susan [100% mercerized pima cotton; 470 yards [430 m] per 6 oz [170g] skein; colors shown: Empress Wu Zhao, Althea Gibson, Ethel Waters; 20 yards
2 US #5/3.75mm straight ndls
Size 6 glass seed beads, approx. 6 grams

Lace weight version:
Schaefer Yarn Andrea; 100% cultivated silk; 1093 yards [1000 m] per 3.5 oz [100g] skein; color shown: Elena Piscopia; 25 yards
2 US #1/2.5mm straight ndls
Size 8 glass seed beads, approx. 3 grams
