Trapeze Shawl

Originally designed as a Mystery Knit-a-long, Trapeze is worked in an unexpected fashion. Enjoy following step by step to see your shawl emerge! There are videos made just for Trapeze to help you, and active threads in my group on Ravelry so that you have lots of support and FUN while you are knitting.

Construction: First three trapezoids are knit from the center out. These trapezoids are then connected by beaded lace triangles. The top edge of the shawl is then finished off with attached i-cord and finally the the bottom border is worked with two colors of beads and a gentle lacy ruffle. Of course you can knit this pattern with only one color of bead, or no beads at all, and it will still be gorgeous!

Materials
You will need approx. 625 yards of fingering or lace weight yarn.

Set of 5 US size 5 [3.75 mm] double pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
US size 5 [3.75 mm] 24 inch circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
US size 5 [3.75 mm] 40 inch circular needle or longer, or size needed to obtain gauge
US size 6 [4 mm] 32 inch or longer circular needle, or one size larger than used for knitting the project

Note: using lace needles will be VERY helpful, if you choose to use lace weight yarn, go down a needle size to get gauge

Tapestry needle
Scrap Fingering Weight yarn- At least 10 yards each in 4 different colors
Stitch markers
Crochet hook for provisional cast on

Optional

Approx. 40 grams size 8/0 glass seed beads in col B
Approx. 40 grams size 8/0 glass seed beads in col A
Dental floss threader (for threading beads onto yarn)

Gauge
22 sts/30 rows= 4 inches in st st, blocked

Finished Measurements
Approx. 14 inches at center back, 48 inches along top edge
